Irene Mycyk
May 28, 1921 – October 16, 2013
My Baba has passed beyond the veil this week, 92 years old. Survived by two children, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild (Griffin). A life of devotion to her family, surviving wartime/refugee Europe, immigrating to Canada and early widowhood. She was an excellent storyteller, a gifted comedian and a fabulous chef. Irene Mycyk born May 28, 1921 in Galicia Ukraine passed away in Calgary, Alberta October 16, 2013. The funeral service will be held in St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Toronto, Ontario followed by internment in Park Lawn Cemetery. At a later date (to be announced) a local memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for her family and friends that remember her from her years On Salt Spring Island. She will remain deeply loved and missed.
