Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. April 26, 1919, our mother passed away peacefully on Salt Spring Island June 22, 2008 surrounded by family.
Predeceased by husbands Joe Coombes, Jim Burns, and Jun Staveley and sisters Kathleen Elliott and Peggy Bridge. Lovingly remembered by daughters Joanne Burns (Rob), Lorraine MacMillan (Bill), Barbara Edwards (Jim Burrows), stepson Randy Burns, grandchildren Les, Ron, Heather, Kelly, Scott and fourteen great grandchildren.
We are grateful for our loving mother whose creative interests included knitting and sewing for her children and, in later years, crocheting keepsake afghans. She will always be remembered for her gracious ways, warm smile and delightful sense of humour.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the nurses and caregivers at Greenwoods and Lady Minto Hospital for their compassionate, loving care and to Dr. Paula Ryan and Dr. Dan Leavitt for their support of our family and genuine care for mother.
A private family gathering will be held to honour and celebrate Timmie’s life.
