Raised and schooled in West Vancouver. Survived by adoring wife Donna; daughter Michelle Leone; son Dana; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers Van DeWest (Lorna) and Jon DeWest (Maureen); stepchildren Kris, Karin, Gregg and Glenn.

Duke was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather as well as a pillar in the community. He was a long time president of the North Shore Little League Baseball and GSL Football. Duke was awarded the Canadian Junior Football League Lifetime Membership for outstanding service to the BC Junior Football Association where he served 27 years in a variety of capacities Well known for his boisterous personality, Duke always brought laughter and smiles to those around him and infused joy into the lives of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A celebration of Duke’s life will be held on Sunday, September 26th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at 4160 Albert Street, North Burnaby.
