Alan was born in Glasgow, Scotland and studied Medicine at University of Glasgow, graduating in 1960. In 1962 he married Christine (Auld), and in 1966 they immigrated to Canada, residing in Jasper, Red Deer and finally Sydney, where he practised until 2004.
Throughout his career,
Alan delivered thousands
of babies safely into the world.
He is survived by his wife Christine, his sister Pauline Spencer (Dave, Julie and Graham), daughters Catriona, Mairi and Fiona and their spouses. Also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
