Edna Gatt

Edna Gatt

It is with great sadness we announce the

sudden passing of our dear Mum and Granny on Thursday April 19, 2012.

Edna was born in Nottingham, England on February 16, 1921. She is survived by her loving family; son Fraser, daughter Jane (Rodger) and her beloved grandchildren, Jen (Sam), Peter, Kaiti (Luke) and Kristen.

Mum lived a very full and vibrant life. She was a Wren during WWII and then immigrated to Canada, working as a legal secretary before raising her family in Vancouver and Victoria. In 1983, she moved to Saltspring Island where she quickly became an active member of the community. She filled her days enjoying island life, volunteering in many areas and spending time with the many friends she made along the way.

Mum was an inspiration on how to live life to the fullest. She loved unconditionally, and was truly loved and cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

A celebration of her wonderful life will be held on Saltspring Island on Saturday, May 5, 2pm at Meadowbrook.

In Mums memory, donations can be made to Jeneece Place, a program of the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children.
