GREGORY WILLIAM DURWARD

Dec 31, 1946 –

June 2, 2009

Greg passed away on Tuesday June 2, surrounded by family and cared for by the wonderful staff at Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island.

Greg loved challenges and excelled at everything he did. He was junior engineer on Canada’s first satellite, Assistant Registrar at the University of Victoria, Professor of Philosophy, inventor/patent holder, CEO of a major fitness products company and most recently business manager for Heritage Place for Seniors complex on Salt Spring Island. Even more impressively, he won the prestigious Father of the Year award 37 years in a row.

In his early 50s he discovered archery, which opened up a new world of friends, travel and excitement for life.

Greg, we will miss laughing with you. You will be deeply missed by your loving wife Lynne, mother Edith, daughter Kristina, son Jonathan (Julie),

grandsons Jeremy and Jason, sister Audrey (Fred) plus Elaine, Angela, Bill, Glenn, Diane and countless others that knew and loved you.

Special thanks to Dr. Ron Reznick for the compassionate and inspiring medical care provided throughout the years, and to Dr. Bob Crossland for the kind support provided to both Greg and family.
