Lance SMH Partridge

1920 – 2014

Lance was born on the 16th of January, 1920 in Sussex, England. During the war he flew with the RAF. Towards the end of the war he transferred to the RCAF and became a Canadian citizen. After the war while teaching at the University of Toronto, he embraced a new career as an advisor to the Premier of Ontario, the Hon. Leslie Frost. Later, moving to Manitoba, he held many posts as a Deputy Minister, his most cherished assignment in that capacity was Inter-Governmental Relationships’ during the Trudeau years. Lance was also Chairman of the Public Utilities Board and Municipal Board under the leadership of the Hon. Edward Schreyer, Premier of Manitoba.

Lance enjoyed retirement, reading with a keen interest, always, in politics.

He will be sadly missed by Lise his loving wife of 42 years and by his 3 sons, Stéphane (Elizabeth); Hugues (Marlene) and Charles (Deborah) and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Madeleine Amanda, Noah Michel and Maxim Georges.

Many thanks to Dr. David Butcher and the nursing staff at Lady Minto for the wonderful care. A Memorial Mass will be held January 25th, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Grace Church.
