LAURA FAULKNER

27 May 1927 – 9 September 2010

Laura passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 9th, at 9:19pm after a brief illness. Laura was predeceased by her parents and her husband Stan. She leaves her son Ken Faulkner, his wife Rhonda and their sons Cole and Eric. Her daughter, Elaine Theunis, her husband Hal and their children Lynette and Sam. Her brother Doug Hicks, nieces Susan, Diane, Bea and nephew Donald.

Laura was born and raised in Vancouver not leaving until she moved to SSI in 1988. She met and married her husband Stan at All Saints Church in East Vancouver. Laura was a social gal who liked to entertain and enjoyed her friends immensely. She had a talent for arranging flowers, loved singing, sewing and enjoyed traveling. Laura loved her SSI church-family and friends. She relished living on the waterfront of Price Road. There, Laura was surrounded by many caring friends for which the family is grateful. After Stan had to enter ECU at Lady Minto, Laura would go there daily to help.

Three years after Stan had passed away, she met Wayne Pearce and they married. Sadly, she was widowed again within only 2 months.

Laura continued to live at Price Road until her memory problems caused her to move into Braehaven. Laura took daily walks in the neighborhood which included stopping into Lady Minto to visit her daughter at work. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Service to be held at All Saints by the Sea on Friday September 17th at 2pm. Instead of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity.
