September 7, 1913 to January 13, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mona Price. She left us peacefully, surrounded by her family. Mona is predeceased by her two great loves, Frank Price and Max Pawlak.
She will be deeply missed by her brother Max Brandly (Jean), children David and Peter, grandchildren Kristen, Gevevieve, Heidi and Becky, and great-grandson Easton. Also lovingly remembered by Barbara and Dorothy.
Mona was born in Three Hills, Alberta. Mona moved to Camrose to attend Normal School, and there she met her first love, Frank Price. Mona became a certified teacher and taught in a one-room school house for 4 years. Mona and Frank then had two sons together (David and Peter). Frank passed away suddenly, shortly after Peter’s first birthday. Mona then moved to Calgary and raised her boys alone. Mona met her second love Max much later in life, and they shared 30 years in Calgary until Max’s passing in 2007. Mona moved to Salt Spring and spent her final 3 years at Heritage Place where she could be close to her son and grandchildren.
The Price family would like to thank Dr. Woodley for his wonderful care. The nurses in the acute care ward for their support, kindness and care. Also to the staff at Heritage Place for making Mona’s life here on Salt Spring a wonderful one.
