RAMONA (MONA) MAY

WARREN

On October 30, 2012 Mona passed quietly away in Ganges at the age of 84. Predeceased by her husband Wilf in 1987 Mona is survived by her daughter Dorothy (Russell), son Danny (April), several nieces and a nephew.

After moving from Calgary in 1951 Mona spent many happy years at the old farmhouse in Burgoyne Bay, where the door was always open and the coffee pot always on. You never knew how many people would be at Sunday dinner, and at Christmas there was only one rule – no one should spend Christmas dinner alone. After Wilf died Mona moved around the Fulford and Beaver Point area for several years, staying busy and involved with the community. She learned to drive at age 60 and thoroughly enjoyed the independence that gave her.

From 1989 to 2001 she was the Fulford Days “pie-lady”, organizing and running the pie stall. For a change of pace Mona moved up to Ganges and the last 13 years of her life were spent in the warm and convivial surroundings of Croftonbrook, where her passions for bingo and cribbage flourished.

A warm hearted and outgoing woman, Mona tackled life head on, facing adversity with a feisty strength. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

A gathering to remember Mona will be held December 1st at the OAP room downstairs at the Fulford Community Hall from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
