Terry Ridings
May 3rd, 1942 – Feb 9th, 2012
Terry Ridings was an intelligent and inquiring man, who valued learning, solitude, love, and the natural world. He was as skilled with his mind and hands, as he was self sufficient and orderly. Terry was a man who knew himself and had little patience for nonsense. He loved Life.
Among his many passions were the Scott Polar Institute, folk music, heritage wooden boats and all it entailed, nautical knot tying and teaching, the only woman who could ever really sing sea shanties and the love of his life (Jill King), designing oceanographic sensor instrumentation, hiking, computer and mapping technology, and the Salt Spring Island Conservancy.
He is launched forth with his big Fid and bodhrum Tipper with much love.
