Thomas Carmichael Farup aged 77 years passed away peacefully in the Phillipines on Friday, July 12, 2013. Survived by sons Mick (Teresa), Murray, Todd (Jane) and Brad; grandchildren Jodie (Rob), Tamara (Jim), Leah and Carlee: great grandchildren Cole, Dakota, Cohen, and Kenzie; in the Philippines Tristan ( adopted son / caregiver). Also his cousin Jean, and many friends here and on Boracay. He is predeceased by his wife of 50 years Margie. Tom was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
He loved a simple island life style; moving to Salt Spring Island in the early 70’s and eventually retiring on Boracay Island, the Philippine’s version of Salt Spring.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Mary Winspear Community Cultural Centre (RM 2A) – 2243 Beacon Ave, Sidney – on Saturday September 14, 1 – 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency.
