After a recent move to Salt Spring Island, B.C. from Ottawa, Ontario it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter on October 8th 2012 at 4:50 am after a long battle with CHF.
Walter and his wife Barbara of 53 years moved to Salt Spring Island in August so he could be cared for by family.
Walter spent thanksgiving surrounded by family and enjoying their company. It was his wish to die peacefully at home, to be cared for by loved ones after his passing, and to have a quiet family gathering in-home with the people he requested in attendance rather than a lavish funeral. We were able to give him his last wishes.
Walter also requested he be cremated and his ashes kept with his his life long love, Barbara.
Walter is survived by his wife Barbara (nee Moodie), their children and grandchildren. He will be in our hearts and thoughts always.
