Margaret Bernice (nee Moore) Bainbridge

Margaret Bernice

Bainbridge

(nee Moore)

September 29, 1915 –April 23, 2014

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother & great grandmother at the grand age of 98 years young.

Every day, when asked how she was doing, it was “two thumbs up” and a smile. She never complained of pain, suffering or old age and in her last day, she finally said, “I am done”. She lived a great life!

Margaret was the second child born to John Arthur Moore & Jessie Lavina (nee Weeks), in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She lived in Kamloops, BC then Camrose, Alberta where she enjoyed her life there until the age of 85. Margaret shared many close friendships with her neighbors; they were like her other family. She enjoyed a career in the Alberta health care system, loved gardening and being a creative soul, was an avid potter known as “Embie” & in her late 70’s learned watercolour & china painting.

In 2001, she moved to Campbell River, BC to be closer to her daughter relocating to Salt Spring Island, BC in 2006 where she enjoyed residing at Braehaven Assisted Living & spending time with her great grandchildren.

Margaret is pre-deceased by husband–Ernie, sister–Doris & eldest brother-Bill. She is survived by: daughter, Gaynelle Lobbes (Tom) of Merritt, BC, step-son, Cyril Bainbridge (Lorraine) of Salmon Arm, BC, grandchildren, Trent Wallbank of Kamloops, BC, Noella Fraser (Mike) of Salt Spring Island, BC, 8 great grandchildren: Jake, Angus, Rachel, Gord, Emily, Mikaela and Ian Fraser, Jackson Wallbank, brother, Don Moore of Abbotsford, BC and her first great great grandchild (expected September 2014).

The family extends gratitude & thanksgiving to the staff at Braehaven , Lady Minto Hospital & Dr. Barclay, for the loving care provided over these last years and especially Jessica, Catherine, Jen, Monica & Jenny for being there on the last day. You were her family too! Special thanks to Maureen & Stacey for always taking the time & showing the love. Memorial tea will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 2pm at the Harbour House Hotel, Crofton Room, on Salt Spring Island.

A book of memories has been set up by Hayward’s Funeral Service and condolences may be left at http://
