Elsie Cochrane (nee McGinness)
October 28, 1932 – April 28, 2014
Born in Vancouver, daughter of William and Mabel McGinness, wife to Sam Cochrane, sister to Elizabeth McGinness.
Elsie was the manager of the catalogue department at Eaton’s Department stores in Langley before moving to Salt Spring Island in 1966. While on Salt Spring she worked at Ganges Post Office.
Elsie loved her home, good humour, conversation, nature, gardening, flowers, helium balloons and dogs were the light and love of her life.
Thank you for the compassionate care from Dr. Woodley, Dr. Dares, Dr. Leon, the nursing staff of Lady Minto Hospital, ambulance attendance, medical support team, the Ladies of Access, Beacon, Marianne, Judy and Hugh.
Elsie will be truly missed by Elizabeth, her longtime Dear friends, Pat Mufford’s family and Susannah Devitt.
A Celebration of the Life of Elsie and a tea will be held at the United Church, date to be determined.
