March 20, 1934 – December 27, 2022.
Born in North Vancouver and taught most of his career on the North Shore, Mike was a never to be forgotten character who saw the humour in every situation and was happy to share his enjoyment of life with everyone he met.
Mike will be much missed by his wife Boodie, his children Steve, Erin and Kevin, his step children and grandchildren and many of his students from over the years.
I think this is the Mike I knew at the University of Washington during the years 1957-1958. If it is him I’m sorry to see this obituary. It’s been since 1958 that we haven’t been in touch so I’m not sure it’s him but it sure looks like it could be. We were both graduate teaching assistants in the physical education department and I know Mike received his Masters. I left after the year to return to New York and had to enter the Army. We had a lot of good times together that year. Please accept my condolences. I really liked Mike a lot. He used to complain to me that the only reason I could beat him in individual sports was because of a leg injury from skiing. We’d laugh about that. This news hurts a lot.
