Dolly passed away peacefully at Lady Minto Hospital on Friday, March 30 ,2012.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years Allan (Al), her son Ron(Maxine), daughter Darlene, all of Salt Spring Island. Four grandchildren Lori (Curtis) Ucluelet, Todd (Eden) Maple Ridge, Kevin (Kelly) Los Vegas and Darren of Victoria, and six greatgrandchildren. Two sisters Hazel (Wainwright), Violet (Vic) SSI and brother Stan (Richmond). She was predeceased by one sister and seven brothers.
Dolly was a long time member of the Lady Minto Hospital Auxiliary and spent many hours volunteering in the Thrift shop, also a member of the Salt Spring Island Golf and Country Club until poor health forced her to leave. Her and Al were avid square dancers and belonged to the local club for many years. Dolly was a very social person and loved to entertain her friends and family.
A very special thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Residential Care Unit of Lady Minto Hospital for all their care for Dolly over the last few years and extreme appreciation for their kindness to Dolly and the family in the last days of her life.
Date and time of reception will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospital Foundation
or a charity of your choice.
