It is with great sadness that we announce Mona passed away at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. She is survived by her husband Hank, daughter Linda Hardy (Bill), sons Lindsey (Cheryl) and Dana (Cher); grandchildren David, Denise, Justina & Merissa and great-grandchildren Miah, Josh, Hope, Emily & Evelynn. Mona is pre-deceased by her loving granddaughter Nikki.
Her upbeat and fun loving approach to life will be sorely missed by all that knew her. She was extremely dedicated to her family. During her working career she built a real loyalty to the R.C.M.P. Retirement saw her as a dedicated volunteer with Besse Dane, Greenwoods and Lady Minto Bingo. Mona would also take a gold medal as a 41 year cancer survivor.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the staff at Greenwoods, Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island and the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria who helped us in every possible way. Dr. Leavitt, as well as all the doctors and nurses at both hospitals are a real credit to their profession.
There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation. A celebration of life will be held at our residence at 732 Beaver Point Road, Salt Spring Island from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2008.
