Muriel McLintock
1918 – 2015
We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Muriel McLintock at Deertrail Cottage in Duncan. Muriel is predeceased by her husband Charles, second husband Gordon, daughter Allison and sister Doris. She is survived by her son John (Beverly), her grandchildren Rob (Kaori), Ryan (Jamie); her great grandchildren Sofia and Kacie; and her daughter Alyce (Richard) and extended family Tamara (Richard); Mark (Jayne); and Justin.
Muriel was an adventurer and was blessed with many wonderful experiences while travelling around the world. She was an accomplished artist and in her later years she turned her talents to creating personal greeting cards in pastel featuring scenes of the Gulf Islands. She loved to play bridge at the Salt Spring Island Legion every week. Mom was easily recognized on the island as “the lady with the hats” as she seldom ventured out without adorning herself with one of her self-made hats featuring a colourful flower on the brim. She will be remembered for her elegance and class.
A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gee, Margo, Liz, Tracy, Lorelei, Kathy, Shelly, Julie, Angela; and especially Michelle, Kari, Megan, Bridgette, T Jay, Nancy, and Recilda at Deertrail Cottage in Duncan.
A celebration of Muriel’s life will be held in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations to Salt Spring Island Search and Rescue Society would be welcomed.
